"The UK government also has to plans to use AI to censor at scale: it’s awarded a £2.3 contract to Faculty AI to develop an artificial intelligence tool to trawl social media for “concerning” posts". Yes, and in addition data-mining for people's private data is intensifying in order to facilitate training of AI models. It has to be borne in mind that the results from AI such as Chat GPT are censored by the people who create the models.

For anyone who wants to try, I've been looking into open-source AI which can be installed on domestic computers. Once installed, this can be used locally with no connection to the Internet, and so is independent, secure and private. I used the open-source Ollama installation software and smaller Large Language Models provided on their website for download and have very basic text to text AI. Some of Ollama's models are uncensored. A small step away from censorship.

I'm happy that I don't use social media!
