Hi Alex, you have a lovely way of writing . I enjoyed this on. I've not lived in Britain for sometime but on my visits the weather is certainly 'strange'. Good luck .
I'm not actually feeling too down about the weather as I've tried to make the most of the sunny days and had the good fortune to be on holiday at the Dorset seaside during the one properly hot week at the beginning of August. I feel like I've had my vitamin D. I also love the rain. But the saturated air is definitely bizarre, as is a constant slightly snotty nose I've had for months now. Something's definitely not right.
The story of Canute and the waves, which I had the 'proper' version of in 'Our Island Story' as a child, has come up many times for me in recent years! Along with the Tower of Babel...
Beautiful piece of writing
Wish I didn't feel it was necessary ...

If you are in the USA, you have this problem too ...
Hi Alex, thank you for this piece so much rings true the weather is strange, muggy and feels like the lack of sun induces a depressive state.
Much appreciated read.

The Brits have a very high tolerance for bad weather which, in these new times, cuts both ways!
There's no bad weather, only the wrong clothing - as they say in Deutschland… 😁🌧️🌞
